Andrew is a 3month old boy with a severe form of tetralogy of Fallot. This consists of a large hole between the pumping chambers of the heart and narrowing in the pathway of blood flow from the heart to the lungs. As a result of this Andrew was very blue from poor oxygenation and at risk for sudden death. In March he underwent successful open heart repair by Robert Dabal MD with closure of the hole plus resection of the obstruction to pulmonary blood flow. His long term prognosis is excellent.
