Azad is a 2 year old boy with a complex heart problem. The right side of his heart is severely underdeveloped and he has only one pumping chamber. As a result of this his body is being perfused by blood with lower oxygen levels, a situation that significantly limits his effort tolerance, quality of life and life expectancy. Surgery during this visit will improve Azad's oxygenation and make him better. He will require a second operation approximately 2 years after the first one.
