Jorge is a 4 year old boy from Ecuador. He was born with a large hole between the two pumping chambers of his heart which caused him to develop heart failure. He had a successful pulmonary artery band operation in Ecuador when he was 7 months old. This controlled his heart failure but did not fix his heart. On July 19 Robert Dabal MD performed an open heart repair on Jorge with an excellent result. He was discharged from the hospital on the 23rd and returned to his home in Ecuador completely recovered and on no medications.
